Anonymous two-way messaging
Anonymous two-way messaging gives you another way to start a conversation while remaining anonymous.
We recognise that Guildhall School is a small and close-knit community. You may want to share something you have experienced or witnessed, but feel concerned about coming forward or worry that the circumstances of your report could make you identifiable.
How does it work?
If you opt in, you can send and receive messages through Report + Support. This gives you the opportunity to:
- share further information about something you have experienced or witnessed;
- ask questions about your options or what might happen next;
- receive information about support and advice available to you; and
- discuss concerns you may have about coming forward or sharing your identity.
You are in control of what information you choose to share.
What can anonymous messaging help with?
You may find anonymous messaging helpful if you are unsure what you want to do next, want to understand your options, or would like support without identifying yourself.
The information you share can also help us to better understand experiences within our community, consider potential risks or wider concerns, and identify whether there are other actions we may be able to take.
Are there any limitations?
Our formal processes do not allow a reporting party to remain anonymous, as we need to ensure that investigations are fair and that the person who has experienced the behaviour is involved in the process.
However, this does not mean that sharing information anonymously cannot lead to action. What you tell us may help us to understand concerns, identify potential risks or patterns, and consider preventative or other appropriate action.
Anonymous two-way messaging can also provide an opportunity to ask questions and find out about your options and available support. It is not intended to provide ongoing advice or support, and the length of the conversation will depend on the circumstances and your continued engagement with the messaging service. We may bring an anonymous conversation to an end where appropriate and will let you know if we do so.
We will also provide information about other ways you can access advice and support within Guildhall School, should you wish to do so.
Choosing anonymous messaging does not commit you to making a formal report or sharing your identity.
