Unlawful discrimination takes place when an individual or a group of people are treated less favourably than others based on a protected characteristic such as age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership (in employment), pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief (including lack of belief), sex or gender, sexual orientation. 

Discrimination is contrary to the Equality Act 2010.

Equality Advisory & Support Service is a helpline that advises and assists individuals on issues relating to equality and human rights, across England, Scotland and Wales.

Citizen Advice provides free, confidential and independent advice on a range of issues including discrimination.

GOV.UK  provide supports and guidance to individuals subjected to discrimination. 
 
Stop Hat UK is one of the leading national organisations working to challenge all forms of hate crime and discrimination, based on any aspect of an individual’s identity. Stop Hate UK provides independent, confidential and accessible reporting and support for victims, witnesses and third parties.

Muslim Women's Network offers a confidential, non-judgmental, national helpline providing faith and culturally sensitive support to women experiencing or at risk of abuse. The service includes information, guidance and referrals for a wide range of issues.

Blueprint for All is committed to addressing inequality in all its forms, including disparities in access and opportunity. The organisation focuses on empowering young people to reach their full potential by improving their living conditions.

Tell Mama is an independent, non-governmental organisation working to combat anti-Muslim hatred. The MAMA Project collects, analyses and reports incidents of anti-Muslim discrimination, ensuring data accuracy, reliability and victim support.
